Why is it important to leave a legacy?
Hi, I hope you are having a fabulous time, I am, I spent a bit of time with my family and it was nice and relaxing.
Back to work today and back to talking to you again I just wanted to talk to you about the importance of leaving a Legacy. We know that we are time limited on this earth and I know that sounds grim but it's a fact, right? so yes, we are time limited on this earth. In being time limited there's a lot but we still have to share there's a lot of life but we still have to enjoy it and I for one I have learnt a lot wherever you are you have something to teach other people. You have something to share with other people so why not actually think of leaving a legacy for your loved ones.
So, if you can think about a topic it or something that has happened to you or something that you've struggled with for a long time and then managed to crack and was able to solve it, imagine how great it would be if you were to put that on paper and write it so that somebody out there can learn from you.
The Concept vs. the Problem
That is the concept of my co-authoring opportunities by Diverse Cultures publishing. Here is how it works, think of writing a book. If you are going to share your message and thinking of leaving a legacy you have to think of writing at least 250 to 300 words, which is a lot. I know people that have been writing a book for a very long time and they still haven't managed to finish it, because they're waiting for it to be good. They are waiting for it to be perfect, but at the same time then looking for agency to publish with. There is so much to think about, and of course that comes with, marketing that book on your own.
The Inspiration
I came up with this organisation because I was like that a few years ago. I was running a charity and I wanted to share some of the lessons that I learnt from making mistakes to learning good ideas and sharing whatever news as a chief executive of a small charity and being able to do everything so I went online instead of looking and so I came across a lady from the US called Linda and through Linda’s organisation I was able to co-author my first chapter in a book.
Six months on from the book being released I was being invited to go and speak at events. I even got an award for it, life just changed for me it was a game changer to a point where I went on and wrote a further two chapters with Linda.
The Opportunity
I started looking for an opportunity to do the same in the UK or any other places in the in the country but I didn’t manage to find anywhere. I decided that this has been nagging me years now. I decided to open it up, no age limits, whether you a man or a woman you just have to be interested in professional development personal development.
The Importance
You have something to teach not even maybe you just wants to market your business, if you are a small business it might be really hard for you to get an agent and to get your voice out there, writing is a good way of doing that but the biggest thing that you’re going to do once you do that is your leaving a Legacy for those people that will come after you.
You are teaching other people the basic things that you know. Think about it this way children learn from us on how to tie their shoelaces whatever you're doing they mirror, I've got a 2-year-old girl who mirrors everything that I do. Anything that you know today, there’s somebody out there that could learn from it, so I make life easy and I help you to bring that into a book by Simply writing a chapter or two or three maximum you wouldn’t go to four because we're trying to avoid getting people to dominate a book. What you do is you submit your chapter us, you also submit a nice photo of yourself and up to one page profile.
The No Stress Option
All you have to do is sit back and let us do the work. Before long, you will receive your book in the post and you'll be able to use that material for your training. You can repurpose it, it's your material we don't take anything. I don't own the intellectual property, I'm just a person that's bringing a lot of great minds together. So, if you feel like you need a challenge or maybe you have a message to share I’m urging you to join me. Think about a co-authoring as an alternative to writing a full book.
There's also the camaraderie that you get with the other offers imagine when the book comes out, there are 14 other people that are marketing the book for you. This is because each one of you will go out and market their chapter, but, they won’t just pick up their chapter they take the whole book so you will be able to reach people that you wouldn't otherwise have reached on your own. Isn't that great? For me that was a game changer, and believe me the concept works.
